Licensed Electrician
AJ Long Electric is seeking an experienced Licensed Electrician to join our growing team. You will perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial clients throughout Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland. This role requires a valid Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician license and at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
Responsibilities:
- *Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance
- *Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- *Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions
- *Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes
- *Mentor and train apprentice electricians
- *Maintain accurate documentation and work orders
Qualifications:
- *Valid Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- *5+ years of electrical experience
- *Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- *Strong customer service skills
- *Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Apprentice Electrician
Start your career in the electrical trade with AJ Long Electric. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our apprenticeship program. You will work alongside experienced electricians, learning the trade while earning a competitive wage. No prior electrical experience required - we will train you!
Responsibilities:
- *Assist licensed electricians with installations and repairs
- *Learn to read blueprints and electrical diagrams
- *Carry materials and tools to work areas
- *Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- *Complete required apprenticeship coursework
- *Progress toward journeyman license
Qualifications:
- *High school diploma or GED
- *Valid driver's license
- *Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various conditions
- *Strong work ethic and reliability
- *Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade
Service Dispatcher / Coordinator
AJ Long Electric is hiring a Service Dispatcher/Coordinator to manage our field operations from our Fairfax office. You will be the central point of contact between our customers and technicians, scheduling service calls, dispatching electricians, and ensuring excellent customer communication throughout the service process.
Responsibilities:
- *Answer incoming calls and schedule service appointments
- *Dispatch electricians efficiently based on location and skill set
- *Maintain and update customer records in service management software
- *Communicate job status updates to customers
- *Coordinate emergency service requests
- *Support administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- *2+ years of dispatching or scheduling experience
- *Excellent communication and customer service skills
- *Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office
- *Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- *Knowledge of Northern Virginia geography a plus
